Bank balance & fixed monthly burn

Target runway

Reverse-calculates the cash you need on hand to last this many months at the net burn.

How it works

This is not a serious FIRE or retirement calculator. It is a quit-job survival simulator and fun resignation countdown: if you handed in your notice today, how many months and days could your savings cover fixed living costs after optional side income?

  1. Bank balance — cash you could spend right after quitting
  2. Fixed monthly expenses — rent, loans, insurance, subscriptions, baseline food
  3. Side income (optional) — freelance, interest, or rent that still arrives. Net burn = expenses − side income
  4. Runway math — balance ÷ (net burn ÷ 30) → survival days. If income covers expenses, runway is unlimited
  5. Reverse cash — pick a 3 / 6 / 12-month target (or type your own). We tell you how much must already sit in the account, and how short you are
  6. Month-by-month leftover — a 30-day-month table you can copy or download as CSV
  7. Verdict + share card — under 90 days: hold on; 90+ days: quit now. Download a styled PNG

Unlike an unemployment benefits calculator, we do not model government payments or severance. Pure "my cash + optional side hustle" runway, tuned for viral sharing—not financial advice.

Why use this tool?

Searching quit job calculator returns sober spreadsheets. Office meme culture wants a punchy line like "your quit-job expiry is exactly 3 months 14 days" on a pretty card. The extra twist is the reverse: "I want six months of runway at this burn—how much cash is missing?" Then export the leftover table. Thirty seconds in the browser, nothing uploaded.

FAQ

Does it include unemployment benefits or severance?

No. Only current bank balance and optional side income count. Benefits, pension, stocks, and property are excluded—this is a meme simulator, not a budget app.

How are "hold on" vs "quit now" chosen?

90 days (~3 months) is the split: shorter runway → hold-on jokes; longer → quit-now jokes. Finer tone varies by tier (critical, tight, borderline, comfortable, quit-ready). Side income that covers expenses is treated as quit-ready.

How does the reverse cash number work?

Target months × net monthly burn. A 6-month target at ₩2,000,000 net burn needs ₩12,000,000 on hand. If your balance is ₩3,000,000, you are ₩9,000,000 short. Months use a 30-day convention so the table and the reverse stay in sync.

Can I post results on social media?

Use Save share card (PNG) or copy the leftover CSV. Adjust presets if you do not want real amounts visible.

Is data sent to a server?

No. Everything runs in your browser; last inputs stay in localStorage only.

Can I use this to decide whether to quit?

Absolutely not. For stress relief and humor only. Talk to a qualified advisor for real financial decisions.
